In late 2025, after discovering the power of honest songwriting, he began channeling his lifetime of experiences into original music under the name Mike Smith and the Dry Creek Bandits. Drawing inspiration from legends like Waylon Jennings, Garth Brooks, Jerry Reed, and Billy Strings, Smith creates music that reflects the people, places, and memories that shaped him—small-town America, dirt tracks, country roads, family traditions, and hard work.
